Another Democrat down!

Well, well so we have another democrat Governor in trouble. As I'm sure we have all heard by now the despicable news about Illinois (D) Gov. Rod Blagojevich trying to sell the Senate seat vacated by Obama.
Let’s recap we have had the Gov. of New York resign we will most likely have the Illinois Gov. resign or impeached, we have had Congressman William Jefferson from Louisiana defeated this last November; yes he is a Democrat, who got caught with $90,000 dollars in cash in his freezer. Then we had the congressman from Florida (D) Rep. Tim Mahoney who replaced the former congressman Mark Folly who sent inappropriate emails to a page; (which he probably single handedly lost the 2006 elections for the Republicans). Rep. Mahoney has now come out and admits to having “Multiple Affairs, But No Crimes", right here is some excerpts from a story by the A.P titled "Mahoney Admits 'Multiple' Affairs But No Crimes" Saturday, October 18, 2008 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,440183,00.html

Mahoney said in his first set of interviews since news broke earlier this week that he had a sexual relationship with Patricia Allen, 50, whom he met while campaigning in 2006." Allen went to work for Mahoney's congressional office, then his campaign. Mahoney said she was fired for performance issues, not because of the affair.

Allen threatened to sue Mahoney for sexual harassment. They reached a settlement to avoid a public airing, with her payout coming from Mahoney's personal accounts, not from campaign funds or federal dollars, he said.

In a statement Friday, the ethics committee said it was reviewing the matter and would interview Mahoney and others.

Mahoney, whose district leans slightly Republican, said he will remain in the race and said he would not bow to Republicans' calls for him to resign. He said he takes pride in his record, if not his personal life.

"We did go to Washington and we got rid of the meals, the trips, we brought more transparency," he said.

He said he settled the case with Allen because "whether you prevail right or wrong, at the end of the day, you're living in a glass house of public opinion."
Let’s look at the 3rd paragraph up where it talks about the district being slightly Republican. He said he will not bow to the Rep call’s to resign; think back, how often does a democrat resign, the answer is hardly ever. Remember the way the media just bombarded us relentlessly for 6 weeks about what he did. Mahoney used his campaign cash as hush money and you never hear a peep about it from the media, what a joke. Now let’s look at the 2nd paragraph up does anyone and I mean anyone believe that they got rid of meals and trips, give me a break. Oh yeah when he ran after Mark Foley left; he was running on family values.

Yes it is true that Republicans have had their problems I am not trying to diminish what they did, but when you compare what they have gotten in trouble with and what the Democrats have gotten in trouble with, it’s no comparison the Dems win hands down. By the way Mahoney lost.
